Palo Alto Networks - Senior Security Researcher (AI & Cloud Security)
As a Senior Security Researcher focusing on AI and Cloud within our Cortex Cloud team, you will be responsible for identifying emerging threats and vulnerabilities specific to cloud environments and developing innovative AI-driven solutions to protect our customers. Your work will involve deep dives into cloud native technologies, analyzing attack surfaces, and building intelligent detection and prevention mechanisms.

* Conduct in-depth security research into cloud-native threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques (e.g., misconfigurations, supply chain attacks, runtime threats).
* Leverage AI/ML to develop new detection and prevention capabilities for cloud security challenges.
* Analyze telemetry from public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to identify malicious activity patterns.
* Prototype and implement security solutions, working closely with engineering teams for product integration.
* Stay current with the latest cloud security trends, AI/ML advancements, and evolving threat landscape.
* Publish research, present at industry conferences, and contribute to the cybersecurity community.
* Provide expert guidance on cloud security best practices and emerging risks.
**Your Experience:**
* 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity research, specifically with a strong focus on cloud security.
* Deep understanding of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security models.
* Experience with cloud-native technologies such as containers, Kubernetes, and serverless functions.
* Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, Go).
* Proven experience applying AI/ML techniques to solve security problems.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to reverse engineer complex threats.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
