Senior Process Engineer, Optical Manufacturing (LiDAR)

Your Mission:

Lead the transition from R&D to mass production for next-generation LiDAR systems deployed by BMW, Volkswagen, and other automotive leaders. Drive automation of optical assembly processes to enable scalable manufacturing of our cutting-edge perception technology.

Core Responsibilities:

• ✔ Automation Leadership
  • Convert manual optical assemblies to robotic pick-and-place (P&P) systems.
  • Design dispensing processes for precision optical components.
  • Develop cleanroom-compatible manufacturing workflows.
• ✔ Production Ramp-Up
  • Execute technology transfers to Far East contract manufacturers.
  • Implement DFM principles for automotive-grade reliability.
  • Optimize processes using DOE/JMP/Minitab for yield improvement.
• ✔ Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Resolve production issues with R&D, QA, and supply chain teams.
  • Conduct failure analysis on optical subassemblies.
  • Manage NPI timelines for multidisciplinary LiDAR systems.

Your Toolkit:

• ▸ 5+ years process engineering in optics/photonics manufacturing.
• ▸ Hands-on experience with:
  • Automation equipment (dispensers, conveyors, robotics).
  • Statistical process control (SPC, CpK analysis).
  • Automotive quality standards (IATF 16949 preferred).
• ▸ Cleanroom protocols for optical assemblies.
• ▸ Willingness to travel 25% to Asian CMs.
